Micro-Gapped Toroids
Ceramic Magnetics is an industry leader in custom gapped cores. Our micro-gapped toroids offer an efficient, low loss, high-energy solution for switching power supplies and linear devices with effective permeability ranging from 100 to 400.
Core sizes from 0.156 to 0.520″ outside diameter, 0.090” to 0.300” inside diameter, and as small as 0.020” high are available. Gapped toroids can reduce size, reduce losses, and are less noisy than other core technologies. They are a cost effective alternative to gapped shapes in transformers or powdered metal cores in output chokes. Material typically supplied is MN80.

- Tolerances (dimensional): ±0.005
- Tolerances (magnetic): a) Inductance ±10% (w/ gap <0.003 ±15%) (grading available); b) Inductance with DC Bias: minimum value based on design
- Supplied with rounded edges and parylene coating
