Powdered Iron
Powder Cores:
Available in Pressed shapes, most typically toroids, baluns, slugs and threaded cores – see Soft Ferrite: Pressed products for tooled shapes (note sizes are reference only as Iron has a different shrinkage rate than Ferrite). Blocks for the induction heating industry (to promote efficiency of heat treating) are available (standard size: 6.0 x 3.0 x 0.25).
Microwave Absorbers:
Available loaded into a plastic matrix and machined from blocks (typically 12.0 x 6.0 x 1.5 in.) into complex shapes.
